Practices

The Foundry Sheffield was founded in 2015 with a profound commitment to social justice and community empowerment. Our inception marked a pivotal moment in the landscape of Sheffield, as we assumed the lease of the historic Victoria Hall, a Grade 2 listed building nestled in the heart of the city. From the outset, our mission has been clear: to champion the wellbeing and prosperity of Sheffield’s residents, irrespective of their background, beliefs, or circumstances.

Our ethos of inclusivity drives everything we do. By fostering collaboration with local authorities, voluntary organisations, and residents, we endeavour to address the multifaceted challenges facing our community. Our efforts extend beyond mere relief; we are dedicated to advancing education, promoting social welfare, and mitigating the scourge of unemployment. At our core, we strive to enhance the quality of life for all Sheffielders, nurturing a city where every individual can thrive.

Since our inception, our impact has transcended the confines of Victoria Hall. While our roots remain firmly planted within its storied walls, we have expanded our reach to encompass several other community buildings through short-term contracts. By supporting the charities that own these spaces, we aim to amplify their influence, thereby magnifying our collective impact on Sheffield’s social fabric.
