Burngreave Foodbank
Burngreave Food Bank, part of the Trussell Trust network, provides three days' worth of food to individuals in crisis. Operating from two centres in Burngreave and Darnall, it is open four afternoons a week from 1-3pm, distributing approximately 120 food parcels weekly. While a referral is required, anyone in need is welcome to seek support.
Practices
We believe nobody in the city should go hungry, which is why we exist. We have been running for over 10 years, opening in 2012, and since then, we have seen a huge increase. There has been a steady increase in COVID-19, but even in the last year, we have almost doubled the number of parcels we give out.
