Galeed House

Galeed House is a Place of Friendship - a community house in Darnall run by a Christian Trust. Our aim is to build friendships between all the many races, faiths and cultures that make up the Darnall community. This means that all our activities are open to all free of charge. We serve a free lunch to any women who wish to come on Thursdays at our drop in - which also includes English conversation and use of sewing machines. We celebrate Christmas, Eid and Easter by bringing and sharing food together. Our youth work happens weekly and also often includes the opportunity for the kids to prepare and eat healthy food. Our Men's English class share a meal together at Christmas and other festival times. We also collect left over bread from Roses bakery weekly and distribute it to our friends in the community or any who have need- so avoiding waste. We also act as referees for the local Foodbank for any experiencing food poverty.
