S2 Food Poverty Network

S2 Food Poverty Network was set up in 2013, in response to growing need for access to food. The voluntary, community, and faith sectors came together, wanting to provide a local response to the demand for emergency food p[parcels and plan a longer term strategy. S2 Food Poverty Network now looks beyond the immediate crises and works to address the underlying causes of poverty.

Practices

After initial food parcels, we can now offer membership of the Community Shop, where for a small contribution, clients can shop with dignity for staples and market fresh produce. Our benefits worker will maximise a client’s income and work with other agencies to provide additional support including energy. Working in partnership with Community Money Advice, a FCA regulated organisation, we will provide tailored debt and financial advice.
